Subaru Forester

,

Subaru Forester 2.0XT is my two-in-one daily and sleeper. It is the perfect combination of work car, offroad vehicle and thanks to all wheel drive it also handles quite well on the wet, snowy streets. Engine, exhaust, interior and audio system modifications made it even more enjoyable to drive. At this point the whole floor and suspension is restored and coated to prevent rusting. All rubber suspension elements were replaced with polyurethane. Exhaust is custom welded and equipped with Flowmaster DBX muffler, which combined with unequal length headers makes the rumble. Intercooler over twice as big as the original and 07’ WRX STI turbocharger provided 40hp increase without remapping! The goal is to safely reach 280hp on stock internals.
The leather interior was cleaned and colored with professional paint. The entire car was sound deadened, speakers replaced, wide range tweeters added and a 12 inch subwoofer in custom manufactured OEM look fiberglass enclosure was mounted in the trunk. The soundsystem is controlled by Pioneer headunit with Apple Car Play, and powered by two amplifires. Good quality woofers and well placed widerange tweeters provide desirable scene effect and sound clearence, even when the music is really turned up.

CX500 Cafe Racer

,

Honda CX500 looks interesting due to its distinctive „V” engine which makes it a great base for a custom. After stripping down old ugly plastics and unnecessary parts, it turned out to be a fairly light construction, ideal for making into a Cafe Racer. The plan is to:

  • shorten the rear of the frame
  • bolt on a NFF custom made seat
  • install a small wind deflector around the headlamp
  • design and manufacture inverted levers
  • weld a custom exhaust with 70’ Triumph Boneville muffler replicas
  • repaint

PGRacing Team

,

Formula Student is a prestigeous international student engineering competition held on famous racing circuits all over the world. The aim is to design, build and race formula style cars.

I wanted to take part in a student project since I started my studies . Back then there was no Formula Student team on our Technical University so my friends decided to establish one. I am the part of the team from the very beginning and was involved in the design, production and assembly of almost every part of our three constructions made until now. Soon after I joined the team I have been elected Main Coordinator and Chief Engineer of the team. This project subtantially improved my 3D modeling skills as well as knowledge, teamwork and managment skills.

Technical specification of our latest construction:

  • Engine: Triumph Street Triple R 675ccm with standalone management unit
  • Intake Manifold: 3D pronted in SLS technology
  • Drivetrain: Custom with limited slip differential
  • Gear Shifter: Pneumatic
  • Brake System: Based on Wilwood components with custom aluminium brake rotors.
  • Aerodynamics: Carbon fiber
  • Frame: Steel tube
  • Suspension: Independent A arms with Rock Shocks Kage RC dampers

XJ900 cafe racer

,

Commuter on a budget, made to be parked on the street. Meant be nifty and reliable, yet totally unattractive to thieves. An old Yamaha XJ900 model, weirdly tuned by its previous owner, turned out to meet these criteria. The motorcycle was stripped of the old-fashioned bodywork elements. The suspension and brake system were repaired, and the handlebar, brake pump and lever, head and rear light, and console were replaced. Conical air filters, perforated metal sheet elements and a new fender and seat have improved the look. For lack of time and budget, an ugly fuel tank from a Chinese chopper was left to be changed at the nearest opportunity…..

The motorcycle retained its nice riding parameters, but a shorter handlebar makes it a bit more nervous while turning. The flat seat looks well enough, but is not to comfortable for longer rides. All in, it is an everyday commuting scarecrow 😉

XVS650 Bobber

,

Once upon a time there was a dull tourist chopper. Its neatly designed rear suspension, which pretends to be a rigid frame inspired us to make it into a bobber. Wearing the colours of summer and sea, it is a really handsome Tri-City cruiser.

  • weight reduction by about 50kg
  • custom made composite fenders and motorcycle body elements
  • new paint and handmade fairings.
  • custom-made saddle, plaited with leather straps
  • custom tripple tree, wires hidden in handle bar, custom front and rear lamps and blinkers
  • custom Vince & Hines pipes

The motorcycle has maintained very good drive parameters, and thanks to weight reduction, it has become even easier and more enjoyable to drive. A large comfortable seat has prooved itself on long routes. The motorcycle is equipped with a removable luggage carrier, which is useful on the road and does not interfere with the cool urban appearance.

WSK 125cc Grandpa’s Oldtimer

,

This historical motorcycle is our family’s heirloom. She served my grandfather for many years, and still works fine. It is currently being restored to mint condition, and will become an even more elegant oldtimer, dressed in deep black coat of paint and polished ornaments.

  • disassembled into fundamental parts, including the engine
  • all aluminum parts will be polished. Crude surface of bare metal elements is a heritage of the poor times of the People’s Republic of Poland
  • all chrome elements have been renewed or replaced with new ones
  • a general overhaul of the engine will be carried out
  • paint job was done
  • new ignition and electrical installation to meet meet current vehicle requirements – lights need to be turned on both day or night.

The basic WSK 125cc model was produced with minor changes until 1985. The last WSK left the assembly line on the 31 October 1985, and was the last serial motorcycle ever manufactured in Poland.

Junak – Polish Classic Bike

,

SFM Junak – Polish motorcycle, produced by the Szczecin Motorcycle Factory in 1956-1965. It was the heaviest motorcycle and the only model equipped with a four-stroke engine produced in the Polish People’s Republic (1945-89). The construction, developed in 1951-1952 in the Engineering Department of the Automotive Industry by the team headed by J. Ignatowicz, outranked many motorcycles of renowned world companies of that time. Many Junaks were exported, among others to Hungary, Bulgaria, Turkey, Venezuela, Mongolia and Cuba. Junak has also been sold in the USA, including the Scrambler on- road/off-road model.

  • bought as a broken, brush painted „exhibit”
  • disassembled into single parts, including the engine
  • all aluminum parts were cleaned, leaving a rough original surface structure
  • all chrome elements have been refurbished or replaced with new ones
  • a general overhaul of the engine was carried out
  • all elements received a new coat of paint with hand-painted details (akin to the method that was originally used in the factory)

Currently, the motorcycle is fully operational and „road ready”. Until the magneto is regenerated, the original ignition has been temporarily replaced with electronic one (based on ignition coil). Although not original, this solution does not affect in any way the beautiful sound of Junak, reason for which it is sometimes called the Polish Harley.

HD Sportster – Bobber Conversion

,

H-D Sportster  Ironhead (’80), planned conversion to bobber springer hardtail. Renovation and power tuning of the engine has already been completed (by Maciej Kopczyński), and the design of modifications to the frame and body elements is underway.

Red Devil (expensive like hell…)

,

Sometimes opportunity makes the project. Chaotically assembled but cheap replica of Lotus 7, plus the fun I had during construction of Jabooar made me decide to build another one. This one was way worse to work on then the one I built from scratch…. Fortunately the engine, frame and suspension were fine. But the rest….. It would take a long time to decribe. A really good deal at the first sight, but then? Hmmmm…

  • Newly painted frame and body
  • New wiring, new electric system, electronic ignition.
  • Lot of visual tuning, new console, seats, upholstery, head protectors, rear bumper with a spare wheel.
  • New fuel system

Final effect is worth of the effort put in (I hope). But do I need really two Lotus 7 replicas…?

Lotus Super 7 „Jabooar”

,
